2 Chronicles 30:8

Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.

Now hear me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the Lord is upon you.

And said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for whereas we have offended against the Lord already, ye intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.

And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.

Notwithstanding the Lord turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that Manasseh had provoked him withal.

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
